Sandra is a native of South Carolina. Although she grew up in Greenville and Honea Path, SC,  she’s been a part of the Pawleys Island and Murrells Inlet area since the 1970s, as family lived in the area since the 1930s. In fact, the dock behind her great uncle’s house in Murrell's Inlet is where she learned to fish, as well as crab with a string and a net! She's known the area since it was only trees, a smattering of homes, and a blinking light at the North Causeway, even remembering when mobile homes were on the island.

Sandra lives on the creek at Pawleys Island where she enjoys kayaking, fishing, photography, gardening, and spending time with her rescue fur-family of 3 dogs and a cat. She also participates as a member of SCUTE’s turtle patrol and volunteers at the CHRSC Community Garden. She has been deeply involved in 501(c)3 rescues for 34 years, and does TNR throughout the area, and volunteered at SC-CARES. She attends and is active at All Saints Church.
